It seems like the I.D. scams are EVERYWHERE! Where do these criminals get their ideas? It seems like every time I turn around there’s some new way somebody could steal my info.

Ha! I like the point about how emails from legit companies won’t contain spelling and grammatical errors. Do these criminals really think I’m going to give them my bank account number if they can’t even write a complete sentence or they spell like a third grader? Please. Good video, Lionheart Assurance Solutions.

Juanita L. – Scam artists often watch the news in order to get ideas for a new way to steal information. That’s why it’s so important to verify a company before you give them anything, even if they seem legitimate. Also, check out the other articles in our scam prevention toolkit for more ways to help prevent i.d. theft from happening to you.

Good advice… esp. to just call and verify that a company is real before you answer their questions via email. It’s a small step but it can save people a lot of grief.
